International Homeless Animals' Day

The Queenie Foundation, Inc. invites you to attend our 13th (and CT’s second) annual International Homeless Animals’ Day event, Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 4 to 8 pm at the East Hartford Town Green. Friendly and leashed companion animals are welcome, of course! Admission is free.
Our theme is Creating Compassionate Children; we invite you to bring your children and teens. Information will be available on what they can do to take action for animals. Our children are our greatest resource and with the right coaching and support can become animals' greatest advocates. Heidi O'Brien, Director of Outreach, Humane Society Youth, a division of The Humane Society of the United States is our guest speaker. Heidi brings a wealth of knowledge from one of the nation's largest animal protection organizations. Since 1973, Humane Society Youth has worked to educate young people about kindness and respect for all animals and their natural habitats, activate youth in efforts to protect animals, and provide teaching materials, professional development, and other support to teachers and humane educators.
Meet Connecticut rescues and advocacy groups. There will be information on homeless companion animal adoption and volunteering.

Schedule:
Meet ‘n Greet: 4 - 7 pm
Interfaith Blessing of the Animals: 6:30
Presentation: 7 - 8

Write queeniefound@hotmail.com or call 860.649.4488 for questions.
